Running in Madness

August 28, 2026 · Standalone Single

"Running in Madness" explores the pain of being born into a world we never chose, and living under decisions and forces beyond our control — not exclusively political, but metaphysical: the frustration of a reality whose fundamental conditions were set long before we could ever question them. Musically, it moves through a melancholic, intimate atmosphere of lo-fi textures, indie rock, shoegaze, dream pop and alternative rock, building toward an outro where surrendering to that helplessness becomes "running in madness" itself.

About

Yigit Erkoc performing live with guitar and microphone

Yigit Erkoc is a 22-year-old independent artist, songwriter and producer from Istanbul, Türkiye. He writes, records, produces, mixes, masters and designs the artwork for every release entirely on his own.

His music moves between indie rock, alternative rock, shoegaze, melancholic alternative and bedroom pop, drawing on artists like Salvia Palth, Teen Suicide, Panchiko, Alex G and Radiohead. Rather than settling into one genre, the focus stays on atmosphere, emotional intimacy, and the tension between vulnerability and distortion.

He started out releasing English-language material before experimenting with Turkish-language singles — one of them, "Kağıttan Şehirler," was featured on Spotify's New Music Friday in Türkiye. He later returned to writing in English, and "Running in Madness" marks the beginning of that new chapter.

He's currently developing several new songs that share the same atmosphere, forming the foundation of a future album, with new material planned roughly every one to two months over the next six months.
